GREEN STORES

• Yellow halogen flourescent lamps in our stores reduce electricity use by half. We recently opened a store that uses LED lighting and ecological air conditioning. We’ll evaluate both for future use in all our stores.
• We use only plantation-grown melina wood for the store fixtures we build. All store fixtures are of standard colors. This allows us to reuse or rotate display cases from store to store without having to invest in additonal wood, inks, glues and other materials.
• The glass in all display cases is 100-percent recycled.
• We use flooring made of laminates applied without the use of adhesives. They are easy to maintain and can be cleaned without using chemicals.
• We build display cases and other store fixtures using products that contain few toxic chemicals. These products include eco-friendly wood filler, water-base wood stain and water-base glue for all types of moldings and tiles.
